With the start of a new week in China, this Monday also meant the start of a new week of company and university visits. And for us of SPOCK, this day started early in the morning. With the bus leaving at 7:45, everyone had to wake up early in the morning. Luckily everyone had had a nice rest and enthusiastically greeted this new morning (not to the entertainment of some Chinese hotel guests which quickly gestured us to be more silent) and was packed and dressed in time.

With over an hour in the bus, everyone still extended their sleep a little bit before reaching our first company in Shenzhen: Nexperia. They organised the entire day for us, starting with a light breakfast during the bus trip. This is also where the filming started, which continued throughout the day. Arriving at the company, we were greeted by some employees who would stay with us throughout the visit and guided us towards the presentation room. There we were greeted by a number of directors, engineers and researchers who all gave presentations, ranging from some basic facts and numbers about Nexperia to the companies machines. After a good lunch the working of the production lines were explained before we were given a tour along them. Afterwards we were shown the employee housing along with the entertainment building, where we played ping pong and 8-ball along with the employees and made some music.

After the tour we went back to the presentation hall and finished the company visit. After taking the bus back to the hotel, the planned part of the day ended. Back at the hotel, everyone changed back into casual clothes and went out to eat. Following dinner (where we got the least spicy food the restaurant offered) it was time for some relaxing activities: some went to karaoke, some to a rooftop bar and others went and started watching a movie, before all going to bed again in time for the next early morning.
